ITC OPENS INT€™L CONTAINER TERMINAL
The 48-hectare terminal houses customs, tax and banking service departments, offering one-stop-shop services for enterprises to quickly complete export-import procedures.
The second phase of SP-ITC is underway to increase the capacity of the terminal and enable it to handle more goods from neighboring Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces.
The first large-scale terminal invested by a private firm in HCMC is expected to raise the competitiveness of ports in HCMC and reduce costs of goods transported by waterway, HCMC chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong told the inauguration ceremony.
With its main pier located along the Dong Nai River, SP-ITC can facilitate waterway transportation of goods, helping ease traffic congestion on roads and overload at Cat Lai Port in District 2.
Established in 2001, ITC now operate nine big vessels and 150 trucks, offering road and sea goods transport services for domestic enterprises, especially exporters and importers.
